Came a loud voice from the tv.
“The Hyoid is heading to Broing town Arizona”
Was the next announcement.
“All residents of Broing Arizona should stay within their homes and do NOT! I repeat DO NOT! make a sound”
Panic sprang in my veins and I knew what the next step should be. “Victory!” I screamed from the top of my lungs. “NANCY!” “Honey!” I screamed out loud enough to make sure everyone home heard me. My pregnant wife and two daughters I must protect them. “What’s Wrong!” I heard the reply from my wife the usual scream of someone annoyed that I couldn’t get up to fetch my own things. But now its not the time. “Where are the kids?” “it’s happening!” “plan hummingbird!” I screeched with excitement and panic that all my planning is paying off. I knew I wasn’t crazy. I am going to protect my family.
My wife pops her head out looking at me confused processing the information I just said. “what” and of course she asked what I just said. “Honey Get the kids, everything should be ready. We have to leave town the Hyoid is coming.” I said with haste. She still looked equally confused “What!” she finally processed everything I said with and utter look of terror. “yes, we have to leave. Now Hurry!”

My wife found the kids in their rooms after which she proceeded to yell at them that it was time. They sprang into action each of them knowing where they had to go and what pack they had to get which they proceeded to haul ass to the truck waiting outside specially outfitted since years ago to move at moments noticed. The kids where in the truck, the wife was tucked, and I walked out of my home with more bags than they could carry slamming our reinforced door shut.

Safely in our truck heading north toward the mountain. I can’t help to notice that people around us are standing still and cars are just parked. Luckily, I believe them to be fools and feel a sense of pride knowing that I can safely get my wife, my two daughter, and unborn child to a better location. “Such Fools” I mumble to myself. Wife didn’t hear me, but I can see concern on her and our kids were panicking, but I think they will adapt faster than their mother. “It’s okay baby” I said reaching a hand to hold hers “ we have been preparing for this” I said squeezing her hand reassuring her that everything will be okay. A small smile spread on her face nods and squeezes my hand back. Content I continue to drive to our destination.
